Pharmacy Data Entry Technician

About The Position

PharMerica is a closed-door, non-retail pharmacy serving long-term care, senior living, hospitals, rehabilitation hospitals, and other specialized care centers. The Pharmacy Data Entry Technician supports pharmacy operations by entering medication orders, handling and packaging medications, maintaining documentation and inventory, and assisting with customer inquiries and billing-related computer operations. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with rotating Saturday and Sunday shifts from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The salary range is $22.00–$26.00 per hour. PharMerica, an affiliate of BrightSpring Health Services, provides pharmacy care through local teams and a national network. Its services support skilled nursing facilities, senior living communities, hospitals, individuals with behavioral needs, infusion therapy needs, seniors receiving in-home care, and patients with cancer.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
License, registration, or certification as required by state regulations.
Previous pharmacy experience required.
Excellent data entry skills.
Attention to detail and ability to work under deadlines.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

Enter orders for new and refill medications.
File documentation as required by pharmacy regulations.
Respond to customer inquiries as necessary.
Fill drug kits under direct supervision, applying accuracy and aseptic technique.
Match preprinted labels and delivery manifests with a source document.
Locate medications in the pharmacy supply area, count them, and package them in the correct system, including blister packs and vials.
Pre-package medications according to standard procedures.
Assist with other phases of computer operations, including billing procedures.
Clean equipment and work areas.
Check equipment for calibration and safety.
Rotate stock as required.
