Pharmacy Data Entry Technician
About The Position
PharMerica is hiring a full-time Pharmacy Technician/Data Entry Technician in Grand Prairie, Texas. This role is based in a closed-door, non-retail pharmacy serving long-term care and senior living clients. The schedule is seven days on followed by seven days off. The position supports pharmacy operations and customer service by processing medication orders, preparing and packaging medications, maintaining documentation and inventory, and assisting with computer and billing procedures. PharMerica is an affiliate of BrightSpring Health Services. Its pharmacy group serves health care providers including skilled nursing facilities, senior living communities, hospitals, rehabilitation hospitals, long-term acute care hospitals, and other specialized care centers. The organization also provides pharmacy services for people with behavioral needs, infusion therapy needs, seniors receiving in-home care, and patients with cancer.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- License, registration, or certification as required by state regulations.
- Previous pharmacy experience.
- Excellent data entry skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work under deadlines.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
Responsibilities
- Enter orders for new and refill medications.
- File documentation as required by pharmacy regulations.
- Respond to customer inquiries as necessary.
- Fill drug kits under direct supervision, applying accuracy and aseptic technique.
- Match preprinted labels and delivery manifests with a source document.
- Locate medications from the pharmacy supply area, count them, and package them in the correct system, including blister packs and vials.
- Pre-package medications according to standard procedures.
- Assist with other phases of computer operations, including billing procedures.
- Clean equipment and work areas.
- Check equipment for calibration and safety.
- Rotate stock as required.
