About The Position

Saskatoon Co-op is seeking a Full-Time Pharmacist for their Centre Food Store location (Ref#: M9) in Saskatoon. This role reports to the Pharmacy Manager and involves a variety of responsibilities related to prescription fulfillment, customer service, inventory management, and adherence to regulations and company policies. The ideal candidate will be strongly service-oriented, motivated, and capable of providing courteous and efficient assistance to customers. The position also requires a willingness to work at any Co-op Pharmacy location based on business needs.

Requirements

  • B.Pharm/BSP Degree
  • Current Provincial Pharmaceutical License
  • Strongly service-oriented and motivated
  • Capable of serving and assisting customers in a courteous and efficient manner
  • Willing and able to work at any of our Co-op Pharmacy Locations based on business need

Responsibilities

  • Fill prescriptions.
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians, students, or apprentices in authorized functions.
  • Adhere to government regulations and Saskatoon Co-op policies regarding drug control, safekeeping, and sale, including the return and disposal of outdated stock.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties and maintain the appearance of the department.
  • Provide information and patient-oriented advice on prescription, over-the-counter, and self-medication products.
  • Assist in supervising team members and implementing training programs.
  • Maintain familiarity with all merchandise in the department, standard pharmacy items, and new products in the pharmaceutical and retail pharmacy industry.
  • If incorporated into a food floor, be familiar with the store layout and merchandise locations.
  • Address and resolve customer complaints according to Saskatoon Co-op policies.
  • Supervise inventory movement (receiving and selling), including ordering prescription pharmaceuticals and 'over the counter' merchandise.
  • Be aware of and informed about Saskatoon Co-op contracts, policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Assist the supervisor in preparing reports, compiling statistics, processing invoices, and preparing annual budgets.
  • Place claims against suppliers and carriers for Saskatoon Co-op Merchandise when required.
  • Assist with current merchandising and signing policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Open and lock up the store and/or department when required.
  • Assist in the safekeeping of all cash handled in the department.
  • Maintain a constant alert against unauthorized removal of merchandise.
