About The Position

PeaceHealth Springfield Rehabilitation Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, is a new inpatient rehabilitation facility. The Pharmacist manages medication therapy as part of an interdisciplinary team, reviews and evaluates medication orders for potential or actual drug-related problems, and provides drug information and education to medical staff, healthcare professionals, patients, and pharmacy students. The role documents interventions and outcomes for medication-therapy quality improvement and checks medication orders for accuracy and completeness, including verifying technician-filled prescriptions.

This position is PRN. Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree and a doctoral degree, an Oregon pharmacy license, and Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire. One year of experience is preferred. The hospital describes its facility as brand new and equipped with cutting-edge equipment and technology.

Responsibilities

• Provide drug information and education to medical staff, healthcare professionals, patients, and pharmacy students.
• Document interventions and outcomes for use in drug therapy quality-improvement efforts.
• Evaluate medication orders for accuracy and completeness before order entry.
• Check orders for accuracy after they are filled by technicians.
