About The Position

SSH-St. Francis is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronic, critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. The Pharmacist provides pharmaceutical and clinical support for hospital pharmacy operations and helps deliver compassionate patient care. The role is per diem and pays $71 per hour. The hospital offers an extensive orientation program and the possibility of advancement to full-time opportunities. Part-time and per-diem employees may qualify for 401(k) eligibility after reaching 1,000 hours within their first anniversary or a subsequent calendar year.

Requirements

• Successfully complete all educational requirements mandated for state licensure.
• Hold a current state pharmacist license.
• Hold BLS certification if required by the state.

Nice To Haves

• PharmD, or a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy plus an advanced degree, or completion of a hospital pharmacy residency.

Responsibilities

• Maintain working knowledge of pharmaceutical services, including drug distribution systems, central operations, and IV admixture.
• Provide clinical support for hospital pharmacy functions in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain adequate drug supplies in the pharmacy.
• Inform and instruct patients on medications they will use after discharge.
• Develop and participate in new employee training and education programs.
• Participate in patient drug therapy monitoring.
• Promote an environment of continuous quality improvement.
