About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital - Miami Lakes is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronically and critically ill patients who require extended healing and recovery. The Pharmacist provides pharmaceutical services and clinical support for the hospital pharmacy in a fast-paced environment, helping deliver compassionate patient care. The role is per diem, located in Miami Lakes, Florida, and pays $65 per hour.

The hospital offers an extensive orientation program and potential advancement to full-time opportunities. Part-time and per-diem employees may be eligible for 401(k) after reaching 1,000 hours within their first anniversary or a subsequent calendar year.

Requirements

• Successfully complete all educational requirements mandated for state licensure.
• Hold current state licensure.
• Hold BLS certification if required by the state.

Nice To Haves

• PharmD, or BS Pharm plus an advanced degree, or completion of a hospital pharmacy residency.

Responsibilities

• Maintain working knowledge of all areas of pharmaceutical services, including drug distribution systems, central operations, and IV admixture.
• Provide clinical support for the hospital pharmacy function in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain adequate drug supplies in the pharmacy.
• Correctly inform and instruct patients about drugs to be used after discharge.
• Develop and participate in new employee training and education programs.
• Participate in patient drug therapy monitoring.
• Promote an environment of continuous quality improvement.
