About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronic, critically ill patients who require extended healing and recovery. The Pharmacist provides pharmaceutical services and clinical support in a fast-paced hospital environment, helping deliver compassionate patient care. This is a per diem position in Mesa, Arizona, primarily covering weekends, with compensation of $70.00 per hour. The hospital is moving to the third floor of Banner Baywood Medical Center in Mesa.

Requirements

• Successfully complete all educational requirements mandated for state licensure.
• Hold current state licensure.
• Hold BLS certification if required by the state.

Nice To Haves

• PharmD, or BS Pharm plus an advanced degree, or completion of a hospital pharmacy residency.

Responsibilities

• Maintain working knowledge of all areas of pharmaceutical services, including drug distribution systems, central operations, and IV admixture.
• Provide clinical support for the hospital pharmacy function in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain adequate drug supplies in the pharmacy.
• Correctly inform and instruct patients on medications they will use after discharge.
• Develop and participate in new employee training and education programs.
• Participate in patient drug therapy monitoring.
• Promote an environment of continuous quality improvement.
