About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. The Pharmacist supports the hospital pharmacy function in a fast-paced environment and provides compassionate, excellent care throughout patients’ recovery. The role requires working knowledge of pharmaceutical services, including drug distribution systems, central operations, and IV admixture. This is a per diem position at Select Specialty Hospital - Daytona Beach. The hospital provides an extensive orientation program and notes that strong performance may lead to potential full-time opportunities.

Requirements

• Successfully complete all educational requirements mandated for state licensure.
• Hold a current state pharmacist license.
• Hold BLS certification if required by the state.

Nice To Haves

• Pharm.D. or BS in Pharmacy plus an advanced degree.
• Completion of a hospital pharmacy residency.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical support for the hospital pharmacy function in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain a working knowledge of pharmaceutical services, including drug distribution systems, central operations, and IV admixture.
• Maintain adequate drug supplies at the pharmacy.
• Inform and instruct patients correctly about medications to use after discharge.
• Develop and participate in new employee training and education programs.
• Participate in patient drug therapy monitoring.
• Promote an environment of continuous quality improvement.
