About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronic, critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. The Pharmacist plays a central role in delivering compassionate, excellent care. The position provides clinical support for hospital pharmacy operations in a fast-paced environment and requires working knowledge of pharmaceutical services, including drug distribution systems, central operations, and IV admixture. The schedule is per diem at Select Specialty Hospital - Daytona Beach. An extensive orientation program is provided, and the role may offer a path to potential full-time opportunities. Part-time and per-diem employees may qualify for 401(k) based on reaching 1,000 hours within their first anniversary or a subsequent calendar year.

Requirements

• Successful completion of all educational requirements mandated for state licensure.
• Current state pharmacist licensure.
• BLS certification if required by the state.

Nice To Haves

• PharmD, or BS Pharm plus an advanced degree, or completion of a hospital pharmacy residency.

Responsibilities

• Maintain working knowledge of pharmaceutical services, including drug distribution systems, central operations, and IV admixture.
• Provide clinical support for the hospital pharmacy function in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain adequate drug supplies in the pharmacy at all times.
• Inform and instruct patients correctly about medications to use after discharge.
• Develop and participate in new employee training and education programs.
• Participate in patient drug therapy monitoring.
• Promote an environment of continuous quality improvement.
