Under general supervision and in accordance with the accreditation standards of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, participates in a concentrated post graduate training program in hospital pharmacy practice involving the following areas: Direct Patient Care, Ambulatory Patient Care, Drug Information and Drug Use Policy, and Practice Management. This role involves structured practical experience in departmental administration, ambulatory patient services, inpatient drug distribution and control, informational and educational services, budget and finance, continuous quality improvement, and drug policy development. The resident will assist in the provision of management services, financial reporting, budget preparation, pharmaceutical and supply purchasing, and inventory control. Additionally, the role includes assisting with human resource management, developing and participating in community service projects, clinical and/or administrative research, and scholarly activities. The resident will also participate in patient education and in-service programs, assist in providing clinical experience for pharmacy students and interns, and perform general pharmacist responsibilities such as medication dispensing and drug therapy consults. The position requires participation in various patient care areas, development of workload measurement and analysis, and contribution to Drug Information (DI) services. Adherence to system, hospital, and departmental policies, procedures, and objectives is expected, along with maintaining a professional appearance and a clean, safe environment. The resident will also participate in other projects deemed appropriate for the training program's objectives.
