About The Position

The Pharmacist in Charge is responsible for preparing and dispensing appropriate pharmaceuticals to patients, leading a team of pharmacy technicians, and managing the overall day-to-day pharmacy responsibilities. This role entails a high level of responsibility and knowledge.

Requirements

PharmD is required for this role.
Current License to practice (PharmD) in Illinois
Excellent oral, written skills
Must have previous experience working within retail pharmacy environment.
Must be able to utilize Patient Management System in the Pharmacy.
Min 3-5 years retail pharmacy manager experience.

Responsibilities

Review and execute provider’s prescriptions checking their appropriateness and legality.
Organize the pharmacy in an efficient manner to make the identification of products easier and faster.
Maintain full control over medication inventory, stocking and labeling medicine and other products and monitor their condition to prevent expiring or deterioration.
Listen carefully to customers to interpret their needs and issues and offer information and advice.
Prepare medicine when appropriate using correct dosages and material for each individual patient.
Maintain patient profiles and history of all activities regarding medications dispensed.
Keep abreast and stay current with HIPAA and Frauds Waste and Abuse credentialing.
Comply with all applicable legal rules, regulations, and procedures.
Ensure that the Pharmacy and its employees are compliant with Federal, State and Local laws regulated.
Ensure that the Pharmacy and its employees are aware and compliant with local facilities policies.
Direct the daily work of Pharmacy Technicians, this includes providing input into performance evaluations and advising Senior Management of any behavioral and/or performance issues.
Manage the Pharmacy Technicians schedules.
Advise Senior Management of any request for leave of absences or medical accommodations.
