About The Position
The Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) is responsible for the day-to-day operations of a clinic pharmacy. The PIC is listed on the Board of Pharmacy’s website and associated with the pharmacy license for the location to which they are assigned. The Pharmacist-in-Charge is responsible for supervising pharmacy technicians and coordinating with the Pharmacist. The PIC serves as a Pharmacist and performs professional and clinical duties in the dispensing of medications to patients and clinics.
Requirements
- Graduate of an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree
- California pharmacist license required or be certified by the Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Committee (FPGEC), issued by the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy
- Valid and active license in the State of California
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience directing pharmacy workflows
- Minimum one (1) year of experience directing pharmacy regulatory/compliance activities
- Experience working with Regulatory agencies, to include but not limited to DEA, SBOP, CMS, FDA
- Experience with Compliance audits and remediation
- Experience resolving compliance/regulatory discrepancies
- Valid BLS certification or higher, following the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross guidelines
Nice To Haves
- High Volume Retail Pharmacy experience preferred
- Two (2) years of related experience strongly preferred
- Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred
