About The Position

Guardian Pharmacy of Jasper is hiring a Pharmacist In Charge for its satellite pharmacy inside North West Mental Health Center in Jasper, Alabama. The pharmacist will work with nurses and residential-client home managers, serve some outpatient clients, and support clinic injections. This is a one-pharmacist operation with no on-site technician; order-entry support is provided from Birmingham. The role includes PIC duties under Alabama Board of Pharmacy requirements and collecting payments at the point of sale. The Pharmacist In Charge ensures daily medication dispensing, IV preparation, and compounding operate smoothly and efficiently. The role performs staff pharmacist duties while overseeing production, staffing and workflow, compliance, controlled substances, and training. The pharmacist works on the pharmacy floor among staff at least 75% of the time and communicates regularly with the Director, Pharmacy Operations about production, safety, and compliance matters. The schedule may be part-time Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, 9 a.m.–5 p.m., or full-time Monday–Thursday, 9 a.m.–5 p.m. The position requires flexible hours. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or PharmD.
Unrestricted state pharmacist license.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Ability to solve problems with minimal direction.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while meeting strict deadlines.
Quality-minded approach, including seeking out errors and questioning apparent inaccuracies.
Excellent computer skills, including knowledge of pharmacy operations systems.
Ability to work flexible hours.

Nice To Haves

Five or more years of pharmacist experience, preferably in a high-volume pharmacy.

Responsibilities

Supervise staff pharmacists and pharmacy technicians and manage daily production to complete duties on time and meet delivery schedules.
Ensure workflows and staffing support accurate and timely prescription dispensing.
Perform staff pharmacist responsibilities and work on the floor among staff at least 75% of the time.
Communicate daily with the Director, Pharmacy Operations about issues affecting timely production, safety, or compliance.
Ensure pharmacy processes and record-keeping systems comply with state and federal laws and regulations.
Train newly hired pharmacists.
Assist the Director, Pharmacy Operations with staffing and scheduling to ensure licensed coverage required by the Board of Pharmacy.
Oversee CII ordering, inventory control, and dispensing, ensuring proper records and compliance with state and federal regulations.
Maintain the 797-compliance program, including training, documentation, and revisions as needed.
Evaluate workflow and implement changes to improve efficiency, safety, or regulatory compliance.
Assist with pharmacy student evaluations, assignments, and daily duties.
Collaborate with other supervisors and functional areas to maintain smooth and efficient operations, and provide input for Pharmacist, Fulfillment, and Data Entry reviews.
Perform occasional customer-relations duties, special projects, and other assigned duties.
Collect customer payments at the point of sale.
