About The Position

Friday Harbor Drug is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pharmacy Manager to lead our pharmacy team and continue our tradition of exceptional patient care. Requirements

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited pharmacy school
Active and unrestricted Washington State pharmacist license or ability to obtain prior to start date
Immunization certification as required by Washington State law
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a pharmacist
1 to 2 years of leadership or management experience preferred
Strong knowledge of pharmacy laws and regulatory compliance
Excellent communication and leadership skills

Nice To Haves

Experience as a Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) or pharmacy manager
Experience managing pharmacy financials and inventory
Familiarity with community based pharmacy practice, particularly in rural or underserved areas

Responsibilities

Oversee daily pharmacy operations including workflow management and staffing
Ensure compliance with all state and federal pharmacy laws, DEA regulations, and Washington State Pharmacy Board requirements
Maintain safe pharmacy practices and accurate record keeping
Review and verify prescriptions for accuracy and clinical appropriateness
Ensure medications are dispensed safely and efficiently
Provide patient counseling regarding medication use, side effects, and interactions
Lead, mentor, and support pharmacy staff including pharmacists, technicians, and support personnel
Ensure proper training and adherence to pharmacy policies and procedures
Foster a positive and collaborative team culture
Monitor pharmacy inventory and manage medication ordering
Minimize waste and manage expired medications appropriately
Maintain quality assurance programs to support safe pharmacy practices
Work with physicians and healthcare providers to support optimal medication therapy
Promote patient safety initiatives and community health programs
Support pharmacy financial performance through effective inventory management and billing oversight
Implement cost conscious operational practices
