About The Position

The Pharmaceutical Distribution Intern supports the distribution of Johnson & Johnson pharmaceuticals at the Kentucky Distribution Center through operational and supply chain projects. The role provides hands-on experience and professional development for students interested in supply chain management and distribution operations. The intern works with distribution center processes, inventory, operational data, and supply chain systems in a highly regulated environment, collaborating with teams across the business.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Permanently authorized to work in the U.S. and must not require employment visa sponsorship at the time of application or in the future.

• Experience with data analysis tools.
• Familiarity with Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives using Lean/Six Sigma methodologies, including cost improvement projects and supply chain process optimization.
• Help track critical supply inventory levels and monitor operational metrics, with exposure to site, regional, and global inventory management.
• Gain experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, and Quality Management Systems (QMS) to support operational efficiency and compliance.
• Collaborate with departments and business partners, including Quality Assurance, Transportation, and Safety.
• Analyze the movement of people, processes, and products throughout the distribution center; monitor workflows, identify inefficiencies or gaps, and develop recommendations for process improvement.
• Use the Warehouse Management System to assess distribution activity and its impact at macro and micro levels, supporting decision-making and strategic planning.
