Seasonal Pet Playtime Coordinator - Viera
About The Position
Pet Paradise is seeking a Pet Playtime Coordinator to organize and manage daytime play groups at its Viera resort. The role involves interacting with and monitoring dogs in play areas, including the play yard and pool, while ensuring safe, engaging play and attentive care. Coordinators follow management instructions and dog-handling procedures, help manage stress or unusual behavior, and assist with cleaning and play-yard maintenance. The work takes place in outdoor, all-weather conditions, including heat and humidity, and involves exposure to pool water. The schedule must accommodate resort needs, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and peak times. The starting rate is $15.00 per hour, with a $0.50 increase six months after hire and an additional $0.50 increase on the annual anniversary date.
Requirements
- Excellent customer service and organizational skills.
- A genuine passion for working with animals.
- Ability to work in all-weather conditions, including heat and humidity, and exposure to pool water.
- Comfort being around dogs of all sizes and physical ability to handle dogs of all sizes and lift up to 60 pounds.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, pull, push, and grasp as required by the work.
- Flexibility to meet resort scheduling needs, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and peak times.
Responsibilities
- Interact with and monitor dogs in play areas, including the play yard and pool, using appropriate toys and tools to maintain safe play.
- Maintain visual observation of dogs at all times and distribute attention and play among all dogs in the group.
- Minimize stress among dogs and handle aggressive or unusual behaviors.
- Control play levels by following management procedures and instructions and using proper dog-handling techniques.
- Assist the team with cleaning and play-yard maintenance duties.
