About The Position

Pet Paradise is seeking a Pet Playtime Coordinator to organize and manage daytime play groups at its Tallahassee resort. The role involves supervising dogs in play-yard and pool areas, maintaining safe and appropriate play, responding to dog behaviors, and helping with cleaning and play-yard maintenance. The starting rate is $15.00 per hour, with a $0.50 increase six months after the hire date and an additional $0.50 increase on the annual anniversary date.

Team members provide pets with attentive care in a safe and entertaining environment and build relationships with pets and their parents. Pet Paradise offers career development and company-paid training opportunities, including leadership, dog training, and grooming academies. The company operates resort-style pet day camp and care, professional grooming, veterinary care, and overnight boarding services. This role requires flexibility to meet resort scheduling needs, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and peak times.

Requirements

• Excellent customer service and organizational skills.
• A genuine passion for working with animals.
• Ability to work in all-weather conditions, including heat and humidity, and exposure to pool water.
• Comfort around dogs of all sizes and physical ability to handle dogs of all sizes and lift up to 60 pounds.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, pull, push, and grasp as required by the job.
• Flexibility to meet resort schedule needs, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and peak times.

Responsibilities

• Interact with and monitor dogs in play areas, including the play-yard and pool, using appropriate toys and tools to ensure safe play.
• Maintain visual observation of dogs at all times and distribute attention and play among all dogs in the playgroup.
• Minimize stress among dogs in the playgroup and handle aggressive or unusual behaviors.
• Control play levels by following management procedures and instructions and using proper dog-handling techniques.
• Assist the team with cleaning and play-yard maintenance duties.
