About The Position

Pet Paradise is seeking a Pet Playtime Coordinator to organize and manage daytime play groups at its Apollo Beach resort. The role involves monitoring dogs in play areas, including the play yard and pool, promoting safe and balanced play, responding to stress or unusual behavior, and helping maintain clean play areas. The position requires working with dogs of all sizes and adapting to the resort’s scheduling needs and outdoor conditions.

The starting rate is $15.00 per hour, with a $0.50 increase six months after hire and an additional $0.50 increase on the annual anniversary date. Team members may apply for advancement and company training academies in leadership, dog training, and grooming. Pet Paradise describes its work as providing pets with attentive care in a safe, entertaining environment and offers opportunities to develop skills across its pet care services.

Requirements

• Excellent customer service and organizational skills.
• A genuine passion for working with animals.
• Ability to work in all-weather conditions, including heat and humidity, and exposure to pool water.
• Comfort around dogs of all sizes and physical ability to handle dogs of all sizes and lift up to 60 pounds.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, pull, push, and grasp as required by the work.
• Flexibility to meet resort scheduling needs, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and peak times.

Responsibilities

• Interact with and monitor dogs in play areas, including the play yard and pool, using appropriate toys and tools to maintain safe play.
• Maintain visual observation of dogs at all times and distribute attention and play among all dogs in the group.
• Minimize stress among dogs and handle aggressive or unusual behaviors.
• Control play levels by following management procedures and instructions and using proper dog-handling techniques.
• Assist the team with cleaning and play-yard maintenance.
