About The Position

Bradford Hills Veterinary Hospital is hiring a full-time Pet Care Attendant to provide daily care for pets staying in its boarding facility. The role involves feeding, walking, bathing, monitoring, and comforting pets, including animals that are anxious, stressed, injured, or recovering. The attendant works closely with veterinary technicians and doctors and reports changes in pets’ health or behavior. The schedule is flexible within the facility’s operating hours of 6:30 AM to 7:30 PM. Team members work rotating shifts, typically 6, 8, or 12 hours, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays. The pet hotel operates 365 days a year. Compensation is negotiable and based on experience.

Requirements

A genuine passion for providing exceptional care to animals.
Compassion and patience, especially with anxious or healing pets.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when managing records, logs, and medications.
Reliability and dependability.
Availability to work rotating shifts, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting up to 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

Feed, walk, and bathe boarding guests.
Monitor each pet’s comfort and well-being throughout its stay.
Administer medications as prescribed by veterinarians.
Observe animal behavior and health conditions and report changes to veterinary technicians or doctors.
Clean cages and runs and keep the kennel area organized and free of safety hazards.
Maintain accurate records and logs for each pet.
Handle nervous, stressed, or recovering animals with patience and compassion.
