About The Position

Countryside Veterinary Hospital is hiring a Pet Care Attendant. This role is for someone who enjoys hands-on animal care and wants to make a difference for pets daily. The Pet Care Attendant plays a crucial role in ensuring hospitalized and boarding pets are comfortable, safe, and well-cared for, while also maintaining a clean and welcoming hospital environment. This position is ideal for individuals who are active, love working with animals, and take pride in supporting the behind-the-scenes operations of a veterinary hospital. We are looking for responsible individuals who are comfortable working independently and bring a caring attitude to every shift.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience working in a customer-service environment
  • A genuine love of animals and commitment to their well-being
  • A caring, patient, and compassionate attitude
  • Excellent customer-service and communication skills
  • Dependability and a strong sense of responsibility
  • Ability to work independently and stay productive throughout your shift

Responsibilities

  • Provide attentive daily care for hospitalized and boarding pets
  • Walk and exercise dogs according to hospital and boarding protocols
  • Feed pets and provide fresh water according to their individual care instructions
  • Clean and sanitize dog runs, cages, and kennel areas
  • Clean and maintain cat cages in both kennel and hospital areas
  • Monitor pets for changes in behavior, appetite, comfort, or condition and communicate concerns to the veterinary team
  • Maintain the overall cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of the kennel area
  • Keep animal-care spaces stocked and ready for patients
  • Interact with clients in a friendly, compassionate, and professional manner
  • Follow hospital protocols to help maintain a safe environment for patients, clients, and teammates
  • Work independently and complete assigned responsibilities reliably
  • Support teammates and hospital operations wherever needed
