About The Position

Orkin is hiring a Pest Control Technician and provides award-winning initial and ongoing training; no prior pest control experience is required. The technician delivers professional pest protection and service to customers along an assigned route, diagnosing issues and planning treatments to resolve customers’ needs. The role includes route operations, customer communication, property inspections, treatment recommendations, and service documentation. A company vehicle and gas card are provided upon route assignment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to obtain the appropriate pesticide license within the first 90 days of employment; the company pays for it.
• Ability to work independently in the field, manage route-based assignments, and interact with customers in their businesses or homes.
• Ability to safely use a ladder within the manufacturer’s weight capacity.
• Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to safely access crawl spaces, attics, confined spaces, rooftops, and similar areas, including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment, sometimes including an OSHA-compliant respirator.
• Willingness to work in different weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Complete initial and ongoing training to learn the skills and knowledge required to serve customers.
• Prioritize safety in all responsibilities.
• Follow route and daily operation schedules within an assigned territory, arriving at customer locations safely and on time.
• Operate a company vehicle safely and keep the vehicle and equipment clean.
• Conduct yourself professionally and with integrity with customers and coworkers.
• Listen to customers, understand their needs, diagnose problems, and recommend efficient solutions.
• Meet with customers at their businesses or homes to explain work performed, confirm satisfaction, and discuss additional services.
• Inspect the interior and exterior of customer properties.
• Complete required service documentation using a provided handheld device.
