About The Position

The Personalized Medicine Program Director leads people and projects within the Children’s Health Center for Personalized Medicine. The Director is responsible for developing the strategy for Personalized Medicine, prioritizing projects and initiatives, creating and implementing new clinical services, managing processes, and proposing and managing the program budget for Primary Promise. Essential Functions Develops strategy and leads the execution of initiatives within Center for Personalized Medicine, including developing strategic direction, objectives, deliverables, and stakeholders using appropriate methodologies and tools. Adjusts strategic plan as necessary to achieve Center objectives within schedule, scope and resource constraints. Oversees operational activities within the Center, including managing data management process and vendor relationship, and oversees Center finances and billing Collaborates and maintains strong relationships with University of Utah physicians and staff, the Center for Genomic Medicine at the University of Utah, and Primary Children's Hospitals Addresses individual performance issues affecting program success. Provides leadership in identifying, analyzing, managing, mitigating and resolving issues and risks (including dependencies) affecting the Center. As appropriate, escalates issues and risks to Children’s Health leadership. Collaborates and communicates with the Primary Children's Foundation and potential donors to the Center to facilitate and coordinate financial support of the programmatic efforts; Develops and executes program communication plans to ensure timely, accurate, effective communication of program related information to stakeholders. Develops presentations for use in various venues and creates effective marketing materials in partnership with Marketing and Communications. Incorporates industry trends into strategic direction, including maintaining relationships with industry and research partners and benchmarking programs at other institutions, including site visits.

Requirements

  • Master's degree. Degree must be obtained through an accredited institution. Education is verified
  • Four years of experience in a program/product/project management role
  • Experience using word processing, flowchart, presentation, and spreadsheet software at a demonstrated intermediate level.
  • Demonstrated excellent data management, analysis, and presentation skills including use of common tools to extract data and develop reports and graphs for use in reports.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communications to all levels within professional organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with all levels within a professional organization.
  • Experience in a role requiring effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to teach and train others.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a healthcare or bio-technology setting in Personalized Medicine
  • Background in science-oriented education or work experience
