The Personal Training Director in Training is a leadership-development position that learns and executes the full scope of the Personal Training Director role while continuing to personally service Personal Training clients. The position supports the Personal Training Director in leading the Personal Training department at an assigned club location by developing trainers, supporting revenue and enrollment performance, and delivering an exceptional member experience. It develops the leadership, business, and operational capabilities required to advance to Personal Training Director, while remaining accountable for personal client results and production and supporting overall department performance. The role operates under the direction of the Personal Training Director and takes ownership of assigned department areas while developing toward full Director responsibility. It may act on the Director’s behalf for day-to-day operational matters when expressly delegated, but has no independent authority over staffing, compensation, discipline, or budget decisions. It supports or works alongside Elite Trainers, Master Trainers, and Personal Trainers. This is a non-exempt, hourly position based at a single assigned club location. The Personal Training Director sets schedules in advance based on member demand and location needs; schedules typically include evenings and weekends. Occasional travel for company meetings, training, and events may be required. All hours worked must be accurately recorded, and required meal and rest periods must be taken. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a current nationally accredited Personal Training certification approved by Crunch Fitness, current CPR and AED certifications, and completion of Company-established ClubConnect education requirements. Prior Personal Training or comparable coaching experience, success building and retaining a personal client base, and commitment to advancing into a Personal Training Director role are preferred. The position involves moving throughout club floors and rooms, reviewing and preparing paperwork, and communicating with employees, members, and the public. It regularly requires demonstrating, instructing, and physically participating in fitness activities; lifting up to 50 pounds; and standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and remaining on the training floor for extended periods. Compensation is $7.25–$55.00 per hour. Benefits listed include advancement opportunities, training and development, and performance-based bonuses.
