Personal Statement Writing Instructor/College Counselor - Summer 2026

Education UnlimitedLos Angeles, CA
$1,000 - $1,800Hybrid

About The Position

Education Unlimited® provides academic summer camps & pre-college summer programs for students entering grades 4-12. Our summer programs include public speaking camps, college admissions prep programs, science camps, summer acting camp, writing camps, computer camp, leadership camp, video production camp, and college tours. Personal Statement instruction is a significant part of the daily schedule. Students receive one-on-one advice and instruction from English educators to complete this portion of their application by the end of the program. The Personal Statement is a chance for students to stand out, demonstrate their writing facility, allow their uniqueness to shine through, and identify less quantifiable characteristics for college admittance. This program offers students hours of one-on-one consulting with expert writing instructors to hone this critically important piece of writing. Students learn how to present themselves in the most positive light, express self-awareness, imagination, and curiosity, choose a topic, develop ideas, edit for content and style, and avoid common pitfalls. By the end of the program, each student will have written 2-3 essay responses from the Common Application and explored supplemental essay topics ready for submission. College Counseling: With high student-to-counselor ratios in many schools, this camp provides direct access to top guidance counselors. After an interest inventory, counselors help identify appropriate universities based on student interests and academic background. Students leave with a reviewed, researched, and individually discussed list of potential schools.
