About The Position

Holman Insurance Services is currently accepting applications for the position of Personal Lines Sales Agent. The primary role is to engage key personnel at Holman's auto dealerships to create and enhance awareness around the benefits of Holman Insurance Services. This involves marketing activities, developing prospect lists, and following up on leads. The agent will contact introductions via various methods to assess household insurance needs, focusing on a holistic view that may include auto, home, property, excess liability, and life insurance. Once needs are established, the agent will develop quotes and information, emphasizing value over price. Responsibilities include generating new business applications for personal lines Property and Casualty insurance, ensuring timely submission to carriers, and adhering to underwriting guidelines. The agent will also field questions regarding insurance coverage, policy provisions, discounts, and pricing. Collaboration with the management team to achieve premium and retention targets is essential. The role requires acting as a brand ambassador for the insurance group at Holman functions and interacting with other team members to meet growth and service objectives. This may include assisting with training new employees, operating the business system, and sharing successful ideas. Client service needs, such as policy changes, billing questions, and claims assistance, will also be part of the role. Every employee shares responsibility for creating a positive client experience.

Requirements

  • Four-year college degree or demonstrated equivalent experience as determined by department management.
  • Property & Casualty Insurance License
  • Minimum of one-year experience in insurance industry
  • Has maintained a $25,000 minimum monthly average premium in personal lines with at least 10 households/month
  • Maintains a quality book of business – 85% retention and 1.4 policies per household
  • Flexibility in work schedule, requiring some evening and Saturday hours.
  • Ability to travel within the local NJ and PA markets for meetings, prospecting calls and network development.
  • Adaptability and a "get it done" attitude.
  • Highly organized and exceptional at following-up on assigned tasks.
  • Focused on learning and personal growth.

  • Become acquainted with, and a robust user of, the Agency Management System as chosen and installed by the business. This will include attending both live and recorded training sessions as well as independent study and 1-1 training in office.

Responsibilities

  • Engage key personnel at Holman group of auto dealerships to create and enhance awareness around the benefits of Holman Insurance Services.
  • Develop and maintain an active list of introductions and prospects.
  • Contact introductions using a variety of methods to assess personal lines insurance needs of that household.
  • Develop quotes and information for clients that will specifically address their situation.
  • Generate new business applications for personal lines Property and Casualty insurance ensuring timely submission to carriers.
  • Field questions from prospects and customers regarding insurance coverage options, policy provisions, discounts and pricing.
  • Work closely with management team to help achieve premium and retention targets for all lines of selected business.
  • Act as a brand ambassador for the insurance group at all Holman functions and across the Holman organization.
  • Interact with other Account Representatives and customer service personnel as needed.
  • Assist with client service needs that may include policy changes, billing questions, claims inquiries and assistance, or other tasks as requested.
