About The Position

RISE Personal Care Specialists provide one-on-one assistance to patients and/or customers throughout their visit to the retail area, from entry through checkout. They create a welcoming, upbeat experience and use strong knowledge of the store’s products and consumption methods to help each person identify suitable options. The role includes educating customers about products, consumption methods, and safety, while recommending safe and effective regimens tailored to individual needs. Personal Care Specialists support day-to-day dispensary operations, including order verification, stocking, inventory and fulfillment tasks, maintenance, recordkeeping, and compliance with applicable cannabis regulations and safety procedures. They work at assigned front-of-house, back-of-house, or maintenance workstations as directed by management. The position involves direct customer interaction, computer and point-of-sale use, handling inventory weighing up to 30 pounds, and working in a customer-facing environment that may include outdoor work and exposure to cannabis or allergens.

Requirements

At least one year of customer service experience.
Meet scheduling and availability requirements, including varying shifts such as mornings, days, nights, and weekends, to meet business needs.
Maintain reliable, responsible, and dependable attendance.
Be at least 21 years old.
Pass all required background checks, including state-specific cannabis employment requirements.
Possess a valid driver’s license or state ID.
Remain compliant with all legal and company regulations for working in the cannabis industry.
Demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees.
Listen well and communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with various audiences.
Follow instructions and incorporate constructive criticism from managers.
Operate with professionalism and integrity, including handling confidential information and complying with HIPAA requirements.
Perform prolonged workday or shift tasks, including moving around the dispensary, remaining stationary when needed, communicating with individuals and groups, operating point-of-sale systems and office productivity equipment, preparing orders, inspecting detailed information, moving inventory and materials weighing up to 30 pounds independently, and positioning oneself to move inventory in storage areas.

Nice To Haves

Specialty, customer-facing retail experience.
Previous knowledge of cannabis, cannabinoids, the endocannabinoid system, GTI products, and cannabis therapies.
Previous experience with point-of-sale systems.
Understanding of applicable cannabis laws and regulations, safety regulations, local municipal codes, organizational rules, and standard operating procedures.

Responsibilities

Engage with and assist patients and/or customers in a customer-facing retail environment.
Educate patients and/or customers about products, consumption methods, and safety.
Use product and consumption-method knowledge to recommend safe and effective regimens suited to individual needs, and remain current on product knowledge.
Promote a positive, communicative, patient- and customer-oriented work environment.
Assist in verifying order deliveries for accuracy.
Support the management team in keeping retail operations smooth, proper, and compliant, including daily activities, maintenance, and documentation of reported patient information, issues, or complaints.
Ensure local and state cannabis regulations are enforced and upheld.
Keep the sales floor stocked and the store well maintained and compliant.
Maintain hard-copy files as required.
Follow security measures and safety compliance procedures.
Complete assigned front-of-house duties, including check-in, sales floor, point of sale, kiosk, in-store and pre-orders, curbside, and roll-through.
Complete assigned back-of-house duties, including fulfillment, receiving, replenishment, and inventory counts.
Uphold cleanliness, safety, and presentation standards throughout the dispensary.
Perform other duties as assigned.
