About The Position

Talem Home Care is seeking caring, compassionate, and hard-working Personal Care Providers in Colorado Springs and surrounding areas. The role offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in healthcare while supporting clients in their homes. Personal Care Providers deliver unskilled personal care and household services, provide companionship, and help maintain a clean, safe, and organized home environment. The position is currently seeking evening caregivers and offers flexible part-time or potential full-time shifts, with quick orientation.

Requirements

Valid, current driver's license and access to a reliable automobile.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Able to stand, kneel, bend at the knees, and squat throughout the day.
Ability to safely assist clients in and out of a vehicle and lift a wheelchair or walker weighing up to 50 pounds into and out of a vehicle.
Physical ability to lift and transfer clients.
Ability to use arms, legs, feet, hands, and fingers to assist clients with activities of daily living.
Ability to frequently move the whole body to perform tasks such as lifting, light housekeeping, walking, and driving.
Ability to sit for long periods.
Ability to see and hear well, naturally or with correction.

Nice To Haves

One year or more of personal care experience in a home care setting.

Responsibilities

Observe and maintain the home environment to ensure the client's safety and security.
Assist with household chores, including cooking, meal preparation, cleaning, and laundry.
Assist with activities outside the home, such as shopping and appointments.
Provide companionship through social interaction, conversation, emotional reassurance, encouragement, and mind-stimulating activities.
Perform or assist with personal hygiene, including bathing, hair care, mouth care, and dressing, when skilled skin care, skilled transfer, or skilled dressing is not required.
Maintain timely service records of home visits.
Attend and participate in appropriate client care conferences, staff and education meetings, and agency committee meetings.
