About The Position

Talem Home Care is hiring Personal Care Providers to provide unskilled personal care and household services to clients in their homes in Colorado Springs and surrounding areas. The role combines companionship and practical support to help maintain a client’s safety, independence, and a clean, safe, and organized home. The posting seeks evening caregivers and offers flexible part-time or potential full-time shifts, with quick orientation. Compensation is $17.00–$20.00 per hour.

Requirements

Valid, current driver’s license and access to a reliable automobile.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Able to stand, kneel, bend at the knees, and squat throughout the day.
Able to safely assist clients in and out of a vehicle and lift a wheelchair or walker weighing up to 50 pounds into and out of a vehicle.
Physical ability to lift and transfer clients.
Able to use arms, legs, feet, hands, and fingers to help clients perform activities of daily living.
Able to frequently move the whole body for tasks such as lifting, light housekeeping, walking, and driving.
Able to sit for long periods of time.
Able to see and hear well, naturally or with correction.

Nice To Haves

One year or more of personal care experience in a home care setting is preferred.
Ability to accept constructive criticism, solve problems as part of a team, and understand and respect procedures and protocol.

Responsibilities

Observe and maintain the home environment to support the client’s safety and security.
Assist with household chores, including cooking, meal preparation, cleaning, and laundry.
Assist clients with shopping and appointments outside the home.
Provide companionship through social interaction, conversation, emotional reassurance, and encouragement of reading, writing, and mind-stimulating activities.
Perform or assist with personal hygiene, including bathing, hair care, mouth care, and dressing, when skilled skin care, skilled transfer, or skilled dressing is not required.
Maintain timely service records of home visits.
Attend and participate in appropriate client care conferences, staff and education meetings, and agency committee meetings.
