About The Position
Comfort Keepers is hiring an in-home caregiver to provide one-on-one assistance to clients in their homes. The caregiver provides exceptional in-home and companion experiences and helps with services in each client’s customized personal care service plan. The immediate need is for overnight caregivers working 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. The position is based through the Sioux Falls, South Dakota office and may require travel to Sioux Falls, Minnehaha County, and surrounding locations. Full-time and part-time opportunities are available.
Requirements
- PCA, HHA, or CNA license, or at least one year of professional caregiving experience; preferred but not required.
- Valid driver's license, automobile insurance, and a reliable vehicle.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Open availability is strongly preferred, and willingness to work a weekend rotation is required.
- Must submit to a criminal background investigation and motor vehicle driving record check.
- Must submit to pre-employment drug screening.
- Desired qualities include compassion, kindness, patience, reliability, and dedication to helping seniors.
Nice To Haves
- PCA, HHA, or CNA license.
- At least one year of professional caregiving experience.
- Experience in hospitality, restaurant, or retail industries.
Responsibilities
- Communicate with the office and clients’ families.
- Assist clients with bathing, toileting, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor dietary needs, prepare meals, and assist with feeding.
- Perform light housekeeping, change linens, and do laundry.
- Shop for groceries and run errands.
- Provide social interaction and companionship.
- Give medication reminders.
- Transport clients to appointments and locations such as doctors, beauty salons, and church.
