About The Position
Pediatric Developmental Services (PDS) is seeking to hire a full-time Personal Care Assistant. This role provides direct, individualized support to a student throughout the school day to ensure their safety, comfort, and full access to instruction. The assistant works closely with teachers and related service providers to maintain a consistent, supportive environment that allows the student to participate meaningfully in all school activities.
Requirements
- Special Education and/or Autistic Support Experience
- Strong communication skills
- Self-motivated
- Patient and willing to problem solve
- Ability to easily connect with children and their parents
Responsibilities
- Provides direct, individualized support to a student throughout the school day.
- Ensures student's safety, comfort, and full access to instruction.
- Helps with daily living tasks such as mobility, toileting, feeding, and hygiene.
- Monitors health or behavioral needs.
- Supports transitions between classes.
- Reinforces routines or accommodations outlined in the student's IEP.
- Works closely with teachers and related service providers to maintain a consistent, supportive environment.
