About The Position

Pediatric Developmental Services (PDS) is seeking to hire a full-time Personal Care Assistant. This role involves providing direct, individualized support to a student throughout the school day to ensure their safety, comfort, and full access to instruction. The assistant will help with daily living tasks, monitor health or behavioral needs, support transitions, and reinforce IEP-outlined routines. This position requires close collaboration with teachers and related service providers to create a consistent and supportive environment for meaningful student participation in all school activities.

Requirements

Special Education and/or Autistic Support Experience
Strong communication skills
Self-motivated
Patient and willing to problem solve
Ability to connect with children and their parents

Responsibilities

Provide direct, individualized support to a student throughout the school day.
Ensure student's safety, comfort, and full access to instruction.
Assist with daily living tasks such as mobility, toileting, feeding, and hygiene.
Monitor student's health or behavioral needs.
Support transitions between classes.
Reinforce routines or accommodations outlined in the student's IEP.
Work closely with teachers and related service providers to maintain a consistent, supportive environment.
Facilitate meaningful student participation in all school activities.
