About The Position

Preferred Care at Home of Virginia Beach is seeking dependable, compassionate Personal Care Assistants (PCAs) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to support seniors in their homes in Hampton Roads, Virginia. Caregivers help clients remain safe, comfortable, and independent while providing one-on-one home care. Weekend assignments are available for caregivers seeking additional hours or a regular weekend schedule. Pay is $15–$17 per hour, based on experience and certification, with weekly pay by direct deposit. Available hours and assignments depend on client needs.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of caregiving experience.
• Current CNA certification or PCA credentials appropriate to the position.
• Availability to work Saturdays, Sundays, or both.
• Valid driver's license and active car insurance.
• Reliable transportation.
• Compassionate, dependable, patient, and professional attitude.
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to providing quality care.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
• Provide companionship and emotional support.
• Assist with meal preparation and light housekeeping.
• Provide medication reminders according to the client's care plan and agency policies.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable home environment.
• Promote client dignity, independence, and overall well-being.
• Follow individualized care plans and communicate changes in a client's condition to the appropriate supervisor.
