About The Position
The Personal Care Aide provides hands-on daily living support to clients in their homes, helping them live safely and independently. The role includes personal care, mobility support, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, companionship, and assistance with errands and transportation. The position offers full-time and part-time options, flexible shift choices, and service in Jarrettsville and the surrounding area.
Requirements
- A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel within the service area.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to follow infection-control and safety protocols.
- Friendly and clear communication skills, with respect for client dignity and confidentiality.
- Dependability and attention to detail.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience as a PCA, caregiver, HHA, or CNA; training is offered to suitable candidates.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, and safe transfers.
- Support ambulation, walker and wheelchair use, and therapist-directed range-of-motion routines.
- Plan and prepare simple, balanced meals and monitor hydration.
- Perform light housekeeping and laundry, and check for fall-prevention risks.
- Provide medication reminders and report changes in condition to the supervising nurse.
- Provide companionship through conversation, games, and escorted outings.
- Drive or accompany clients to appointments, grocery stores, and community activities.
