About The Position

The Personal Care Aid provides essential support to individuals who need help with daily living activities. This often includes assisting with personal hygiene, dressing, eating, and mobility, as well as providing companionship and ensuring the client's safety.

Requirements

PCA or CNA Certification (Massachusetts)
MAP Certified (Training will be provided)
PABC Certified (Training will be provided)
Valid Driver’s License with reliable transportation (car)
Knowledge of COVID guidelines – PPE, etc.

Responsibilities

Help clients live a full and meaningful life.
Provide hands-on ADL care in the shower, toileting, dressing, skin care, etc. as needed.
Continuously ensure all medical equipment is in proper working order, and report when it is not.
Drive the handicap van and transport clients to work, appointments, and activities.
Monitor ongoing medical issues regarding catheter care and skin integrity.
Take vital signs.
Administer medications to the clients.
Assist in planning, food shopping, prep and cooking client’s food.
Prepare paperwork for and attend appointments.
Potentially assist in a therapeutic handicap accessible pool (would need to be in the pool with the clients).
Think outside the box to encourage client compliance.
Work directly under an RN, learning, and reporting.
