Personal Banker (Universal Service Representative): Yucca Valley
About The Position
The Universal Service Representative performs a wide range of teller and USR I duties, including processing transactions, opening memberships, originating and funding unsecured loans, and helping members select financial products and services. The role balances daily transactions, verifies cash totals, supports members with account and IRA needs, and demonstrates the credit union’s digital and alternate service channels. It also includes supporting new representatives and assisting with branch balancing and cash-management tasks. Frontwave Credit Union is a member-owned, not-for-profit financial institution serving San Diego, Riverside, San Bernardino, and Imperial counties. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least one year of experience at a financial institution in a teller or similar role, with an emphasis on accurate cash handling.
Responsibilities
- Process routine transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and cashier’s checks.
- Open new memberships and ownerships, and add or remove joint owners on existing memberships.
- Interview prospective and existing members to identify appropriate products and services for their financial needs.
- Cross-sell products and services to meet member needs.
- Originate and fund unsecured credit card and personal loans or lines, and communicate loan decisions.
- Follow up with new and existing members to check satisfaction and answer questions.
- Answer IRA questions and process IRA contributions and distributions.
- Explain and demonstrate alternate delivery channels, including the credit union website, online banking, eStatements, mobile deposits, bill pay, P2P, remote transfers, and Express Line.
- Support new Universal Service Representatives.
- Participate in the end-of-day branch balancing process.
- Balance, fill, and audit ATMs, CDMs, and recyclers as needed.
- Maintain the cash vault and issue debit cards instantly.
- Perform duties in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and credit union policies and procedures.
- Prioritize workflow and adapt flexibly to changing needs.
