About The Position

The Person In Charge (PIC) is a primary contact for customers and provides friendly, courteous, and helpful service. When the Store Manager and First and Second Assistant Managers are absent, the PIC is in charge of the store and has analogous authority to make decisions needed to operate it efficiently, profitably, and with superior customer service. When in charge—generally at night—the PIC supervises store employees. The PIC also performs Cashier-Checker duties and may be required to work in various store departments. The role includes responding to emergencies, complaints, and accidents; monitoring customer service and product replenishment; assisting with cashier and equipment issues; performing basic office functions; and operating a checkout register. The PIC may also perform end-of-day office tasks, count out-of-stock products, and count tills. The position is safety-sensitive and requires complying with company policies and applicable laws. The work is performed inside the store, with rare outdoor work.
