About The Position

As a Permanent Substitute Teacher, you will serve in a variety of teaching positions across subjects including Spalding reading and writing, science, social studies, and enVision math. You will implement the school’s curriculum and educational philosophy, support students’ academic and personal growth, and work with parents, guardians, and support staff to help students succeed. The role may require participation in events outside normal hours, light lifting, sitting, standing, moving around campus, and travel to other campuses as required.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in education.
Current substitute teaching certificate from the state where the position is located.
Pass a criminal history background check; requirements may vary by state and may include state and national checks.
Ability to perform light lifting, sit, stand, move throughout the campus, and travel to other campuses as required.

Responsibilities

Create a safe classroom environment that cultivates learning, engages students, and supports them in performing at their best.
Use direct instruction to lead activities that promote students’ social, physical, and intellectual growth.
Identify individual student needs, provide side-by-side support, and develop solutions suited to each student’s learning style and abilities.
Implement the school’s curriculum and educational philosophy, guiding students toward curriculum goals using teaching strategies and best practices.
Encourage students to uphold school values and model mature behavior, good character, and social skills in the classroom and throughout campus.
Evaluate and celebrate student academic performance, share progress and accomplishments with parents or guardians, and help ensure support staff are prepared to support students.
Participate in events outside normal working hours.
Travel to other campuses as required.
