About The Position
The Periop Support Associate participates as a member of the perioperative nursing team. The primary focus is transporting patients, specimens, and equipment; sanitizing operating rooms; and assisting with maintaining unit supply levels. The position is with Orlando Health Orlando Regional Medical Center (ORMC).
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Maintain current BLS/HealthCare certification.
Responsibilities
- Clean stretchers, operating room tables, equipment, and rooms.
- May assist the registered nurse and anesthetist with transporting postoperative patients to the recovery unit.
- Convey and receive information in a timely manner.
- Perform operating room sanitation tasks.
- Stock operating rooms with supplies.
- Check, count, and stock supplies in warmers, cabinets, bovies, substerile/supply rooms, linen areas, and bags.
- Transport patient specimens, cultures, blood, and body fluids to pathology, radiology, and the laboratory.
- Assist with moving and lifting patients, supplies, and equipment.
