About The Position

The Floating Associate assists Production and Packaging Associates with operations, equipment set-ups and adjustments, and general labor on production and packaging lines. Duties vary day to day depending on where additional assistance is needed. The role involves operating packaging and process machinery, packaging finished products, portioning and preparing ingredients, preparing pans and trays, making boxes, stacking pallets, cleaning and sanitation, and washing dishes. This is a fast-paced food production environment with hourly and daily goals, substantial manual work, and a strong emphasis on food safety and Good Manufacturing Practices.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a food-related environment is preferred but not required.
• Ability to lift up to 37 lbs. regularly and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and work well with others in a team atmosphere.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb, reach, lift, carry, pull, push, grasp, stoop, squat, bend, and stretch as needed throughout the shift.
• Ability to read, write, and understand instructions, warnings, labels, and postings in English effectively.
• Ability to withstand extreme heat or cold.
• Ability to perform repetitive, primarily manual tasks at a fast pace while standing for the entire shift.
• Willingness to participate in all tasks needed, including dishwashing and cleanup/sanitation.

Responsibilities

• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices and hygiene practices.
• Operate equipment safely and in a timely manner.
• Inspect products throughout production to ensure customer requirements are met.
• Locate and handle finished products and packaging.
• Pull and push racks of product and finished goods.
• Participate in operator-based machine maintenance and care.
• Participate in training programs.
• Safely use and dispose of cleaning agents and chemicals.
• Prepare trays and pans, portion ingredients, move product racks, and remove products from pans.
• Make boxes, pack products into boxes, tape cases, and stack cases.
• Participate in dishwashing, including operating dish machines and manually washing small wares and pans.
• Clean equipment and work areas safely and in a timely manner.
• Locate and retrieve raw materials and packaging.
• Assist production and packaging associates with operations, setups, equipment adjustments, and general labor.
