About The Position
The Peri-Operative Assistant provides essential service support in the pre- and post-operative areas, helping ensure patient safety, comfort, and efficient operations. The role supports the healthcare team with patient care duties, transport, and equipment preparation to help deliver seamless surgical services. The position is based at Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital in a community-focused hospital environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- At least one year of experience in surgical services, sterile processing, a patient care environment, or related departments.
- Current BLS-A Certification, or ability to become certified within one month of the start date.
Nice To Haves
- Medical Assistant and/or Nursing Assistant certification.
Responsibilities
- Assist with patient transport and preparation in pre- and post-operative areas.
- Respond to emergent situations according to established protocols.
- Provide building services support and ensure patient areas are clean and prepared.
- Participate in ongoing education to enhance skills and knowledge.
