About The Position

Performs the primary functions of a perioperative/perianesthesia Registered Nurse, including assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for assigned patients in the Operating Room, PACU, Outpatient Services, pre-op interview, and pre-op prep areas during the shift. The nurse is responsible for meeting AORN and ASPAN Standards of Nursing Practice and must be able to circulate in the OR suites, Procedure room, and Endo suite. The role also provides moderate sedation and monitoring as needed in other departments.

The nurse carries out Infection Control policies and procedures and maintains active communication with patients and families, staff, supervisors, physicians, and other hospital departments. The role requires using the HIM site and processing information on the Center's Information System as needed to perform job responsibilities. The nurse assists with reviewing and maintaining department policies and maintains active membership on a hospital committee.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina.
• Minimum two years of nursing experience.
• BCLS certification.
• ACLS certification.
• PALS certification.
• Valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

• Operating Room nursing experience is preferred.
