About The Position

Design, develop, analyze, and optimize software and performance capabilities for storage services and distributed systems. Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to model, measure, analyze, and improve the performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency of hardware platforms, ensuring customer and market requirements are met while balancing quality, cost, and time-to-market. The ideal candidate is systems-focused, analytical, creative, and driven to deliver measurable performance improvements at scale.

Requirements

Proficiency with scripting and automation using Python and shell; Perl is acceptable.
Experience with Ansible playbooks and comfort working with notebooks such as Jupyter.
Hands-on experience with performance analysis, modeling techniques, benchmarking, and workload characterization.
Strong background in Linux administration, such as RHEL or Ubuntu.
Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience for individual contributors.

Understanding of networking protocols and storage management.

Responsibilities

Design and execute performance benchmarks and workloads; measure, analyze, interpret, and share results to identify improvement opportunities.
Apply AI-assisted performance engineering techniques and develop tools, such as performance analysis and automated regression triage tools, to accelerate bottleneck analysis and guide optimization priorities.
Evaluate design alternatives and prototype performance enhancements across platforms and distributed components.
Collect and analyze customer experience and usage patterns; prepare findings and recommendations for engineering and management.
