Performance Marketer

About The Position

Nuance Labs is seeking a hands-on Performance Marketer to build its first repeatable acquisition channels and turn early interest into meaningful product usage. This is a zero-to-one individual contributor role focused on running fast experiments, establishing a measurement foundation, and improving conversion from first visit through activation and repeat usage. The marketer will own acquisition experiments, campaign measurement, and conversion optimization, launching campaigns personally and deciding what to scale, change, or stop based on evidence. The initial focus is validating a small number of acquisition channels, improving conversion to first meaningful product usage, and establishing clear measurement. The role works closely with the Chief Growth Officer, product, engineering, Developer Relations, and creative collaborators. The Chief Growth Officer sets overall growth priorities and budget in partnership with the marketer. The position is in person in Seattle five days per week.

Requirements

  • Track record of personally running acquisition campaigns and improving measurable business or product outcomes, with depth in at least one paid channel.
  • Ability to explain campaign budget, personal contribution, results, and tradeoffs.
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort with spreadsheets, analytics tools, and cohort data; ability to investigate changes in metrics.
  • Sound experimental judgment, including understanding attribution limitations, small sample sizes, and the distinction between platform-reported conversions and incremental growth.
  • Hands-on ability to launch campaigns, write copy, brief creative, and improve landing pages.
  • Good creative instincts and curiosity about user behavior, using data to improve judgment and ideas.
  • Budget discipline and clear prioritization, including knowing when to continue testing, scale, or stop.
  • Zero-to-one ownership: ability to take an acquisition idea from a blank page to a live campaign, establish measurement, and use early results to determine next steps.
  • Scrappiness and ability to launch useful tests with limited budget and support, creating copy, simple assets, and landing pages when needed.
  • Independence: ability to propose a plan, prioritize work, resolve routine blockers, and follow through without daily direction.
  • Ability to communicate learnings and seek broader input when decisions require it.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience growing AI products, developer tools, or consumer technology.
  • SQL proficiency and experience setting up event tracking, attribution, or marketing dashboards.
  • Experience with lifecycle marketing, referral programs, or product-led growth.
  • Experience measuring creator campaigns or sponsorships beyond impressions and clicks.
  • Previous team management or ownership of a global marketing function is not required.

Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day campaign execution and budget pacing for prioritized channels.
  • Build a weekly testing cadence and recommend where to increase, reduce, or stop spend.
  • Test paid search, paid social, retargeting, and relevant sponsorships; select and scale channels based on audience fit and results.
  • Design experiments across audiences, messaging, creative, landing pages, and calls to action, with clear hypotheses and success criteria.
  • Partner with the Chief Growth Officer and creative collaborators to develop and iterate on ads, copy, and landing pages, translating performance data into creative improvements.
  • Work with engineering and product to establish reliable tracking, attribution, and dashboards across visits, signups, activation, and repeat usage.
  • Analyze acquisition cohorts and funnel drop-offs for the audience and use case targeted by each campaign.
  • Identify sources that bring users who activate and return, and use those findings to guide subsequent tests.
  • Improve conversion and activation with the product team, including onboarding and lifecycle experiments.
  • Report on spend, cost per activated user or qualified lead, conversion, and retention by source.
  • As monetization develops, connect acquisition decisions to revenue and unit economics.
  • Share examples of personally owned campaigns and experiments, including goals, budget or scale, hypotheses, changes, results, and lessons from failed experiments.
