Performance Fitter - Kansas City, KS & MO
About The Position
The Performance Fitter conducts golf product fitting events, delivers a positive customer experience throughout product demonstrations and fittings, and builds enthusiasm for Callaway Golf and Odyssey products. The role may be performed alongside an Outside Sales Representative (OSR) or independently as directed by the OSR. It includes educating consumers about product features, advantages, and benefits, setting up and taking down displays and equipment, and conducting fittings using Callaway’s protocol and provided tools. This is a part-time, seasonal position with a varied schedule. The fitter must be available for scheduled weekdays and weekends during the golf season in the assigned territory. Typical events last 5–6 hours on a Saturday or Sunday. The position involves primarily outdoor work and frequent travel within the territory, with occasional travel to surrounding territories, events, and trade shows. The listed pay range is $16.50–$20.00 per hour; the posting also states a pay rate of $17.00 per hour.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to learn product characteristics and distinguish company product features, benefits, and fitting concepts.
- Ability to present technical ideas and facts to diverse consumer and customer audiences in a manner consistent with Callaway standards.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to influence situations and people positively.
- Demonstrated leadership and professionalism.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license and proper insurance for the resident state.
- Driver’s record must meet the company’s authorized driver criteria.
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds, typically product and equipment.
- Availability to work scheduled weekdays and weekends during the golf season.
Nice To Haves
- Golf knowledge, golf club fitting knowledge, and experience using a launch monitor.
- Understanding of the retail golf business, including green-grass or off-course retail.
- Knowledge of past Callaway products.
- Geographic knowledge of the territory.
- One year of successful retail or golf shop selling experience.
- Golf club fitting experience.
- A vehicle large enough to carry 15–20 golf bags and display tents; an SUV or minivan is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Support the goals of customer events and deliver an outstanding consumer experience.
- Set up and take down displays and equipment, following Callaway’s product-fitting setup protocol.
- Ensure fitting carts, tents, wind blades, and table skirts are present, presentable, and up to date at events.
- Inventory and update the Fit Cart.
- Communicate the advantages of the full line of Callaway Golf products to consumers.
- Conduct customer fittings using Callaway’s fitting protocol, launch monitor, and other provided tools.
- Run and train on the Odyssey Fits Tool and apply selling techniques.
- Provide personalized product specifications to consumers.
- Communicate accomplishments and challenges to the OSR and share and solicit lessons learned from events.
