About The Position
Callaway Golf Company is a premium golf equipment, gear, and apparel company whose brands include Callaway Golf, Odyssey, TravisMathew, and OGIO. The company designs, manufactures, and sells golf clubs, balls, apparel, bags, and accessories, with a mission to help golfers of all abilities play their best through innovative technology and premium craftsmanship. The Performance Fitter conducts product fitting events, delivers a positive customer experience from setup through event close, and builds enthusiasm for Callaway Golf and Odyssey products. The fitter may work alongside an Outside Sales Representative (OSR) or independently as directed by the OSR. This part-time, seasonal role has a varied schedule and requires availability for scheduled weekdays and weekends during the golf season in the assigned territory. A typical event lasts 5–6 hours on a Saturday or Sunday. The role involves frequent travel within the territory, occasional travel to surrounding territories, and occasional travel to events and trade shows. The position primarily takes place outdoors.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Able to learn company product characteristics, distinguish product features and benefits, and understand fitting concepts.
- Able to present technical ideas and facts to diverse consumer and customer audiences in a manner consistent with Callaway standards.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to influence situations and people positively.
- Demonstrated leadership and professionalism.
- Valid driver’s license and proper insurance for the resident state.
- Driver’s record must meet the company’s authorized driver criteria.
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds, typically product and equipment.
- Availability to work scheduled weekdays, including weekends during the golf season.
- Frequent travel within the territory and occasional travel to surrounding territories are required; occasional travel outside the territory to events and trade shows may be required.
Nice To Haves
- Golf knowledge, golf club fitting knowledge, and experience using a launch monitor.
- Understanding of the retail golf business, either green grass or off-course.
- Knowledge of past Callaway products.
- Geographic knowledge of the territory.
- One year of successful retail or golf shop selling experience.
- Golf club fitting experience.
- A vehicle large enough to carry 15–20 golf bags and display tents; an SUV or minivan is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Support customer event goals and deliver an outstanding consumer experience.
- Set up and take down displays and equipment, following Callaway’s Product Fitting protocol and event setup standards.
- Ensure fitting carts, tents, wind blades, and table skirts are present, presentable, and up to date at events.
- Inventory and update the Fit Cart.
- Communicate the advantages of the full line of Callaway Golf products to consumers.
- Conduct customer fittings using Callaway’s fitting protocol, launch monitor, and other provided tools.
- Run and train on the Odyssey Fits Tool and apply selling techniques.
- Provide personalized product specifications to consumers.
- Communicate event accomplishments and challenges with the OSR and share and solicit lessons learned.
- Educate consumers about Callaway Golf and Odyssey product features, advantages, and benefits at customer-sponsored events.
