About The Position

Rythm is the fastest-growing lab in America, redefining at-home testing with an easy blood test and a culture around monthly lab testing from home. They have processed millions of tests across all 50 states and manage all operations in-house, including sample testing, logistics, code, marketing, and design. This vertical integration allows for speed, control, and creativity in shaping the future of health and wellness. The Performance Creative Strategist will own the critical connective tissue that turns customer insights into winning ads. This role is central to Rythm's growth strategy, which heavily relies on performance creative. The company spends approximately $50K/day on Meta and aims for rapid scaling across TikTok, YouTube, and organic channels, supported by a growing creator program. The strategist will operate the weekly creative flywheel end-to-end, from mining insights to concepting, briefing, and shipping new ads for testing. They will collaborate closely with media buyers to ensure creative output aligns with in-platform performance. This role, initially established by the founder and recently held by the CMO, requires a fast-paced builder who can efficiently enhance the program and earn senior leadership trust through results. The goal is to build a lean, agile, in-house creative engine for paid social and creator-led organic, with the potential to grow the team over time. The ideal candidate is direct-response native, possesses strong pattern recognition, copywriting skills, and a bias for shipping, rather than being a brand generalist or media buyer.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in performance creative, growth marketing, or in-house performance agency roles.
  • Portfolio of paid social ads that have scaled, ideally on budgets of $1M+/month.
  • Direct-response instincts; thinking in hooks, CTRs, and CPCs.
  • Exceptional copywriting and creative storytelling with wit and a clear voice.
  • Deep pattern recognition across winning ads, with the ability to form hypotheses and bring ideas.
  • Proven experience running a creative pipeline across in-house teams, creators, freelancers, and agencies, including briefing, feedback, and weekly shipping.
  • Fluency with the modern performance creative stack: Meta Ads Manager, TikTok Ads Manager, Figma, Motion/Atria, Frame, Foreplay (or equivalents).
  • AI-first curiosity and experience using generative tools to accelerate creative processes.
  • Comfort with creator-led content as the top of the creative funnel, with the ability to turn raw footage into paid-ready assets quickly.
  • Strong project management instincts, hitting deadlines, and holding oneself and the team accountable.

Responsibilities

  • Own the Weekly Creative Flywheel: Run the weekly creative cadence end-to-end, including insights, ideation, writer's room, production, launch, and review.
  • Mine customer reviews, CX tickets, surveys, and creator footage to generate a library of hooks, angles, and proof points.
  • Maintain a rolling competitive teardown across health, wellness, CPG, and DTC, bringing ideas to the team and driving the briefing process.
  • Write clear, action-oriented briefs for the performance creative production team, providing strategic rationale for each asset.
  • Ship 20-30 net-new creatives per week with sufficient diversity for algorithm optimization.
  • Concept and write high-converting direct-response creative for Meta and TikTok, starting with static ads for CTR validation and expanding to creators and video.
  • Craft persuasive copy, hooks, and CTAs with customer knowledge and attention-grabbing elements.
  • Transform creator-led footage into paid-ready assets, ensuring creator content feeds paid media.
  • Own the landing page/creative match, partnering with landing page builders to ensure a cohesive click-through experience.
  • Iterate relentlessly by pattern-matching winning ads and exploring new angles.
  • Partner with media buyers to analyze performance metrics like thumb-stop rate, CTR, and CPC to inform creative decisions.
  • Test and build AI-empowered workflows for ideation, scripting, voiceover, editing, and variant generation.
  • Evaluate and operationalize tools for performance creative at scale.
  • Translate in-platform data and creative analytics into actionable 'what to make next' decisions.
  • Prototype, test, and scale emerging creative formats before competitors.
  • Run a lean, agile in-house creative engine across paid social and creator-led organic.
  • Establish standardized processes, naming conventions, and a single source of truth for briefs, assets, and performance.
  • Manage a global creative pipeline with clear shipping accountability.
  • Raise the creative floor of the team through working sessions or clear handoffs.
  • Grow the team over time by hiring additional strategists, writers, and editors as needed, with business cases for each hire.
  • Serve as the primary creative approvals contact for paid social, escalating to CMO, founders, or legal when necessary.
  • Succinctly present weekly learnings, winners, and next bets to the team and leadership with a clear point of view.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with growth, brand, product, CX, and creator ops to ensure messaging coherence.
  • Support the creator roster and the team handling creators by briefing, debriefing, and transforming their footage into paid ads.
