About The Position

We're looking for a performance creative strategist who concepts, scripts, and shoots their own content, then reads the data to make the next one win. You'll be on camera, behind the camera, and in the dashboard. This role involves producing 3–5 short-form videos a week, owning 2–3 personas end-to-end, and maintaining a fast loop between what you shot and what you shoot next. This is not a briefing role; you are the maker. You'll work alongside our lead strategist and grow into a senior creator-strategist role as your concepts scale. You will own the full creative loop: customer psychology → format research → concept → script → shoot → edit → performance read → next iteration. You'll appear on camera, write your own scripts, cut your own UGC, and report on what worked. The lead strategist sets the roadmap with you; you turn customer insight and proven formats into content that ships.

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of experience making performance creative at a DTC or growth-stage company, or a creator portfolio demonstrating high-volume, quality production.
  • At least one piece of content that scaled to $20K+/month in spend, with the ability to explain why it worked.
  • Experience conducting structured customer research to inform creative output.
  • Proven ability to translate customer psychology into high-performing hooks, angles, and scripts.
  • Proficiency in conceptualizing, scripting, shooting, and editing short-form video end-to-end, including on-camera performance.
  • Fluent in reading paid social data (CTR, CPA, hook rate, hold rate) and translating it into actionable creative concepts.
  • Skill in mining customer language and crafting hooks that capture attention.
  • Understanding of customer psychology, including pains, desires, objections, motivations, belief gaps, emotional triggers, and identity shifts.
  • Strong taste in identifying high-performing video formats.
  • Ability to differentiate between surface-level insights and true buying triggers.

Responsibilities

  • Concept, script, shoot, and edit 3–5 short-form videos per week (TikTok, Reels, IG/FB).
  • Develop concepts based on psychology and format, not just aesthetics.
  • Conduct research across 2–3 personas (Reddit, reviews, support tickets) to build a language bank for scripting.
  • Identify and adapt high-performing formats from platforms like TikTok, Reels, YouTube Shorts, Meta ads, and competitor creative.
  • Test new formats quickly, adapt them, ship a clean version, read the results, and decide on iteration or scaling.
  • Analyze paid social data weekly (CTR, CPA, hook rate, hold rate) to identify winners and losers.
  • Write a one-page retro report weekly to inform next week's concepts.
  • Manage the iteration flywheel by doubling down on winning hooks, killing losers, and versioning scalable formats.
  • Document winning hooks, formats, and angles in Notion to facilitate faster onboarding for future creators.
  • Co-own the roadmap by planning the next 4 weeks of tests with the lead strategist and backing priorities with data.
