Requirements

  • Active ARDMS certification (required for ACR accreditation)
  • Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
  • 5+ years of clinical experience
  • Must meet all continuing education requirements to maintain active certification and status.

Nice To Haves

  • RVT and Breast registries are strongly preferred, or must be willing to obtain within 6 months of hire.
  • Prior experience in a "Charge" or "Lead" capacity is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct imaging in accordance with Atria safety protocols, policies, and procedures
  • Use proper patient positioning tools, devices, equipment adjustment, and ergonomically correct scanning techniques to ensure patient comfort and safety
  • Assume responsibility for the safety of the patient during the imaging and communicate in a manner appropriate to the patient’s ability to understand
  • Refer specific diagnostic, treatment or prognosis questions to the appropriate physician or healthcare professional, except as authorized by clinical management
  • Acts as a professional role model and technical expert for staff sonographers.
  • High proficiency in planning schedules and managing local department resources.
  • Exceptional verbal and written skills for reporting to the Clinical Site Director and coordinating with the Senior Technologist.
  • Ability to make sound judgments during high-stress situations or emergency department surges.
  • A collaborative spirit focused on maintaining hospital behavioral standards and a positive work environment.
