Requirements

Active ARDMS certification (required for ACR accreditation)
Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
5+ years of clinical experience
Must meet all continuing education requirements to maintain active certification and status.

Nice To Haves

RVT and Breast registries are strongly preferred, or must be willing to obtain within 6 months of hire.
Prior experience in a "Charge" or "Lead" capacity is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Conduct imaging in accordance with Atria safety protocols, policies, and procedures
Use proper patient positioning tools, devices, equipment adjustment, and ergonomically correct scanning techniques to ensure patient comfort and safety
Assume responsibility for the safety of the patient during the imaging and communicate in a manner appropriate to the patient’s ability to understand
Refer specific diagnostic, treatment or prognosis questions to the appropriate physician or healthcare professional, except as authorized by clinical management
Acts as a professional role model and technical expert for staff sonographers.
High proficiency in planning schedules and managing local department resources.
Exceptional verbal and written skills for reporting to the Clinical Site Director and coordinating with the Senior Technologist.
Ability to make sound judgments during high-stress situations or emergency department surges.
