About The Position

BrightStar Care is seeking a per diem in-home caregiver to work 12-hour day shifts as needed. The caregiver provides personal care, companionship, meal preparation, medication reminders, and light housekeeping in clients’ homes, helping them remain safe, comfortable, and independent. Additional shifts may be available for caregivers interested in picking up extra hours. One-hour shifts pay $30 per hour, two-hour shifts pay $22.50 per hour, and shifts of three hours or longer pay a base rate of $19–$22, based on experience.

Requirements

A compassionate, patient, and caring nature.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Experience providing hands-on care in a setting such as home health, assisted living, a group home, or a hospital.
Reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and auto insurance.
Negative TB test or cleared chest X-ray.
Availability to work two weekend days per month.

Responsibilities

Provide companionship and conversation to clients.
Assist with daily activities, including meal preparation, light housekeeping, and errands.
Provide physical assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, transferring, and ambulation.
Accompany clients to appointments or social outings and provide transportation as needed.
Monitor and report changes in clients’ health, behavior, and needs.
Communicate with the RN Case Manager as part of the care coordination team to update the plan of care.
Provide medication reminders.
