People Programs Specialist (Contract)

Crusoe•Sunnyvale, CA
•$50 - $60

About The Position

Crusoe is seeking a People Programs Specialist for a 12-month contract engagement to support the build-out of core talent programs, including job architecture, performance management, and the associated systems. This role is more focused on construction and execution than maintenance, as much of the work is in progress. The specialist will support the Talent Management team by turning design decisions into finished work, such as creating a complete job profile library, configuring and testing Workday, and ensuring review cycles launch on time. The role requires the ability to shift between detailed build work and operational execution, pressure-testing leveling logic, and drafting manager toolkits. The complexity arises from Crusoe's vertically integrated structure, spanning diverse industries and workforce types, requiring a job family structure or performance framework that accommodates various roles from skilled tradespeople to ML researchers. The specialist must be adept at identifying and raising potential failure points early in the process. The engagement covers job architecture rollout, Workday performance implementation, and two full review cycles.

Requirements

  • 3-6 years in People/HR programs, talent management, or HR operations
  • Experience with job architecture, competency frameworks, or job profile management
  • Strong documentation discipline and attention to detail
  • Clear written communication for manager- and executive-facing materials
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and a fast-moving environment
  • Active use of AI tools to accelerate drafting, analysis, and documentation

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Organizational Development, Business, or equivalent experience
  • Experience with Workday (HCM, Talent, or Performance modules)
  • Lattice (or similar: Culture Amp, 15Five) administration
  • Experience supporting a performance management redesign or system migration

Responsibilities

  • Complete the remaining job family and leveling build, including drafting job profiles and mapping roles.
  • Resolve gaps with COEs and business stakeholders.
  • Maintain source-of-truth architecture files and handle technical administration.
  • Support rollout activities such as manager communications, FAQ and toolkit development, mapping review sessions, and escalation triage.
  • Partner on configuration and testing of Workday performance appraisal, including requirements documentation, test scripting, UAT coordination, and defect tracking.
  • Build process documentation and admin runbooks for system supportability.
  • Support the operational backbone of performance review cycles, including launch setup, population and eligibility logic, cycle monitoring, reminder cadence, and completion reporting.
  • Troubleshoot in-cycle issues and act as first-line support for managers and ESPs.
  • Move between operational execution and program work as priorities shift, including talent review support, career pathway documentation, program effectiveness reporting, and ad hoc analysis.

Benefits

  • Compensation will be paid in the range of up to $50.00 - $60.00 per hour.
